After completing formal education
Vijay specialized in painting in
traditional miniatures style and has
been teaching arts in Mayo College,
Ajmer since 1986.
He founded the art house, a training
center and art workshop in Ajmer,
covered by the BBC (British
corporation) documentary film in
1979.
Painting the decoration of several
film sets in Bombay in 1982-83.Vijay
has been undertaking commissioned
work for Décor Art Gallery, Bedford
England since 1988.Décor have
published prints from many of his
painting and exhibited his work in
several places in U.K. His Ganesha
series were first shown at NEC
Birmingham in 1999 This series
depicts lord ganesha (a Hindu god)
in various moods and shapes. The
painting in single color filters as
a monotone, the colour being laid
out to create an emboss of the
finger details which also includes
shokolas from ancient India text
written to produce the desired
effect and he has since completed a
21 meter long mural commissioned by
a company in Milton Keynes UK.
This
series is a tribute to the Indian
women showing her mesermising
journey that virtualy transports the
onlooker across the river of time
into the land of touching rituals
palaces, war fronts and vedas...
each painting unfolds a different
story each stroke speakes volumes.
